This 2½ story Queen
Anne style house has a prominent wrap around porch with detailed spindles and ionic
columns. The wood frame house has many gables, varying roof levels and bay windows.
Diamond shaped leaded glass planes in the transoms decorate the windows in the front. This
large home has a Waverly Stone foundation.
This home was built
by Derkje and John Kleyn Lumber Company in 1901. The Kleyn family lived here until 1915
when the Chester Beach family purchased it. From 1930 to 1975 this home was the Christian
Science Reading Room. Irene and David Meier bought the home in 1975 and restored it to a
one family residence.
